In a world where trauma and loss often leave children feeling unseen and unheard, a simple square of fabric has become a powerful symbol of hope. A child’s drawing, stitched into cloth, becomes more than art—it becomes a whisper of love across borders and oceans. For those growing up with loss, fear, or isolation, simple squares of hope have grown into a tapestry of healing, connection, and care—one quilt, one message, one child at a time.

The Love Quilt Project has partnered with Baxter Mill Archive in Rock Hill, South Carolina to create eye-catching, sustainably made fabrics and products inspired by many traditional African cloths, colorways, art pieces, and fabric patterns. This LQP fabric collection, made in the U.S.A., will be available to the general public later this month.

Meet Naiden Kremenliev, CEO of Carolina Creative Enterprises, the parent company of The Bandanna Company, who has partnered with The Love Quilt Project since 2022. The Bandanna Company helps complete the stitching and binding of the quilts and ships them to the foster children. Naiden is proud to help us and feels strongly that education is the key to changing lives.

Meet Derick Close, CEO and owner of Springs Creative Products Group, who has partnered with the Love Quilt Project since 2023 as a valued partner in our mission to provide educational resources for children living in foster care.

Meet Patrick Wilson, award-winning director, producer, singer, and stage and screen actor. While perhaps best known for his roles in horror franchises such as The Conjuring and Insidious, Patrick is passionate about giving back to those in need as an ambassador for The Love Quilt Project.

During COVID-19 we sent several laptops to the children we support in South Africa. Here are a few of their thank you notes.

We're excited to share some of the stories of the children you help support with your donations to The Love Quilt Project. As you know, not only do these children receive quilts with messages of love, they also receive a donation towards their educational needs.

With generous help from Springs Creative Products Group and Carolina Creative Products, over 150 beautiful handmade quilts arrived in South Africa this Fall! Love Quilt Project Board Member, Deborah Droke, and our longtime South Africa-based volunteer, Diana Higgs, wrapped children in the warmth and love of these quilts in two locations – Leamogetswe Safety Home in a township outside Pretoria and Johannesburg’s Nazareth House.

Bisa Butler’s intricate portrait quilts are truly founded on love. A love of youth, family, community, and black history. She brings to life the famous and the anonymous by translating black & white photographs into dazzling, colorful applique art pieces.

We are in search of an Office Assistant to help with administrative tasks for The Love Quilt Project. This paid position is for 10-15 hours per week for someone with good organizational and tech savvy skills. Candidates must live near Arlington, VA but can work partially from home

If there’s a couple that epitomizes the love of quilting, it would have to be Stephen Seiphert and Liz Schwartz. No wonder they became big supporters of The Love Quilt Project.

The two primary goals of the Love Quilt Project are to provide emotional support through the gift of a Love Quilt to orphaned and vulnerable South African and American children, many of them affected by HIV/AIDS, and to provide access to quality education and support for each South African child who receives a quilt.
